Heaven's Newest Angel!

I am so saddened to have to write this today! Katie Krize, one of the courageous kids who is listed to the right, has passed away. Katie became an angel yesterday, in the arms of her parents, after a very long battle against Stage IV Relapsed Neuroblastoma. She was diagnosed with this pediatric cancer on October 1, 1999, finished treatment in December 2000, only to relapse again on March 10, 2006. On July 13, 2008, Katie began hospice care and began her journey towards her eternal home, in heaven. I am heartbroken for her family and friends, who are left behind to mourn this tremendous loss! She leaves behind her parents, Mike and Michele Krize, as well as, a little sister, Erika. She has many little friends, who went before her, who passed from the same disease, to show her around heaven! I will always remember that beautiful smile that would light up her page! I never had the chance to meet Katie in person, only by corresponding with her CaringBridge page.
